10 Common Legitimate Work from Home Jobs

There are probably dozens of reasons why someone would want a legitimate work from home job opposed to having to work outside. That reason could be because it is more flexible. Could be because of the convenience of not having to drive 30 minutes to work every morning. And in some cases, it could be because they just don’t like to be told what to do and want to be their own boss who follows their own schedule. There could literally be thousands of reasons why someone would consider a work at home job opposed to a job working outside. And I’ll list just a few of the common legitimate work from home jobs right here in this post.

Become an Editor

You don’t have to be a fancy pants expert in literature to become an editor; as long as you know the basics on how to grammatically forge good sentences, you can easily apply to become an editor. In most cases, the role of editor is to proofread for spelling errors or grammatic problems within a post. In some cases, if you prove your self to be worthy, you can maybe even write for the organization you are working for and get paid even more.

Become a Writer

Even better than editing posts, become a writer and get paid to write. There are hundreds of opportunities out there where corporate blogs are literally on the look out for good educated writers. If you are an expert on a certain topic, this is a wonderful opportunity for you to share and publicize your knowledge while getting paid.

Start Your Very Own Website

Start your very own website and become your own independent boss. When you start your website, you open the doors to more new opportunities because now you have your very own independent brand. But as you may know, being your own boss means you have full responsibility of updating your website, promoting it, and much more. If you think you can take on these responsibilities, you can consider joining ad networks like Google Adsense to make money online with your website or join affiliate networks that will pay for sales, impressions, leads, or clicks.

What is Google Adsense?

To give you a better glimpse of this process, I recommend reading our post on How to Make a Website and Make Money Off It. In this process, everything is entirely free to set up your very first website online.

Provide an Online Service

Got a team of professional web designers, logo makers, or web developers? You can start your very own business online without even having to budget from your chair. All that you need is maybe an advanced picture editing software like Photo Shop and a computer and that is it. Essentially, if you can provide an online service that people are dying to pay for, you can be making business nonstop. You are not limited to only logo making and web developing. Take tutoring for example. It was once considered possible only in real life. Now, online tutoring is becoming an entirely new option.

Sell on Auction Sites like Ebay

Although you are not limited to only Ebay, it is a great place to begin to establish your online store. You don’t have to go directly from nada to your very own web store that you have to personally manage, you can experience the process beforehand with great online auction sites like Ebay and Amazon. In essence, the money it costs to display your product on Ebay’s site is well worth the money because what you are basically paying for, is interested buyers to look at your product.

Take Online Paid Surveys

Every little bit counts right? Online paid surveys will NOT replace your current job’s income, however, it can easily supplement it greatly depending on how active you are. The idea is with online paid surveys is that businesses want to find out what consumers are thinking and in turn, they pay survey panels to conduct research on a vast majority (you, the survey takers) and pay them for each survey they complete. Surveys can come for $1-$10 each depending on the time expectancy. In most cases, it is well worth the time spent on taking the survey for the money; the problem is that paid surveys are just inconsistent. One day you may get as many as 5 paid survey opportunities and for the next 5 days, none. All in all, paid surveys are a great way to supplement your current income.

Here are some legitimate survey panels that we have tried and recommend to users. You can find that list here to get paid to take surveys.

TIP: Filling out your profile will greater your chance to getting more survey opportunities opposed to someone who doesn’t have their profile filled.

Become a Freelancer

Take on online opportunities from people who are in need of help and get paid. Freelancing covers a variety of positions. The idea is, in most case scenarios, an individual is seeking help and is willing to pay. Being a Freelancer, you view open online opportunities like these and decide if the task is worthy. If it is, you simply do the task the person is asking and you get paid. It is as simple as that. Job opportunities vary from needing to know web coding languages like PHP to simple tasks like just blog commenting. Being a freelancer, you get the option to choose which job you would like to fill and in most cases, choose how much you will get paid.

Become a Virtual Assistant

A Virtual Assistant (VA) is, in most cases, an entrepreneur who works from their home office. A virtual assistant usually has had experience working in the real business world as an administrative assistant, office manager, paralegal, etc. Virtual assistants provide administrative, secretarial, and clerical support, as well as creative and/or technical services for a client.

The only difference from on-site call jobs to call center jobs is that you are capable of filling your duty at home. The idea is simple. You get assigned to do a certain duty from the company you are hired with and then do the task entirely at home. Sounds easy right? But before you get hyped up about getting a spot as a call center, consider these guidelines from About.com to minimize your risks with dealing with illegitimate companies.

What are data entry jobs? Data entry and information processing workers enter data into a computer, operate a variety of office machines, and perform other clerical or administrative duties.
